During the day Yr 5 and 6 children will have the opportunity of taking three 1 hr workshops: EITHER Route A Interactive Reading with author Martin King Sign Singing with Sannah Gulamani and Decibels Dance with Gwenda Lappin OR Route B Writing with ICT, Yota Dimitriadi Starting with Scripts, Andy Kempe Samba Sensations with Readipop The workshops will be run by University staff, students and visiting professional practitioners. The day will culminate in a celebration of Samba resulting from the workshops led by Readipop. The day will start at 9.30 and finish at 3.00 On this occasion, we can only accommodate 6 classes so will have to operate a first come, first served policy. Over 200 pupils from local schools visited the Institute of Education for the first ‘Fridayfest’ on October 26th. The event was designed to build on the already strong links between the IoE and schools by sharing the excellent facilities of the London Road site. Plans are already afoot to mount another on 15th March.
