How to get to NCLL
The National Centre for Language and Literacy is situated in the pleasant surroundings of the Bulmershe Court campus of the University of Reading. Visitors to the Centre are welcome on any working day between 9am and 4pm, but please ring to let us know if you plan to visit.

Travelling by car
From Oxford
- On entering Reading, follow signs for A4(London/Maidenhead) until A329M roundabout. Continue straight on A4 for about one mile.
- At the second roundabout (very large with houses and a garage), take the third exit (B3350: Earley/University) into Pitts Lane.
- Bear left at the first mini-roundabout, then turn left at the second mini-roundabout into Woodlands Avenue.
- Take the third entrance on the right into Bulmershe Court.
From Basingstoke and the south, Wales, Bristol and Newbury
- At M4 exit 11/A33 roundabout, take the B3350 to Earley. Look out for Shire Hall on your left.
- At the first mini-roundabout, turn left towards Reading.
- Go straight across the second mini-roundabout. At the third mini-roundabout, turn right into Elm Road and Wilderness Road. Continue straight across traffic lights into Church Road.
- Turn right at mini-roundabout into Woodlands Avenue.
- Take third entrance on the right into Bulmershe Court.
From Bracknell and the south east
- Approach Reading on A329M.
- Take the Reading/Maidenhead A4 exit following signs for Maidenhead.
- At the second roundabout (very large with houses and a garage), take the third exit (B3350: Earley/University) into Pitts Lane.
- Bear left at the first mini-roundabout, then turn left at the second mini-roundabout into Woodlands Avenue.
- Take the third entrance on the right into Bulmershe Court.
From London and the North
- Leave M1 and take M25 (direction Heathrow) until exit 16 (M40 Oxford).
- Leave M40 at exit 4 (A404 Marlow/Reading) and follow signs for A4 Reading.
- Continue on A4 to Reading to large roundabout (with houses and garage).
- Take second exit (B3350: Earley/University) into Pitts Lane.
- Bear left at the first mini-roundabout, then turn left at the second mini-roundabout into Woodlands Avenue.
- Take the third entrance on the right into Bulmershe Court.
Travelling by bus
Buses for Bulmershe: 63 and 65 from the train station.
